Working from a holistic, culturally, and religiously responsive approach, Nisa Homes provides residents with a safe transitional shelter for healing. Our staff provide assistance with the goal of helping residents attain long-term independence and self-sufficiency
What you?l do:
?rovide crisis intervention and emotional support to clients; assist clients to assess their situation, provide information and referral to appropriate community resources with a trauma-informed and survivor-centered approach, prioritizing the safety and well-being of the clients.
?onduct assessment, intake and assume case management responsibilities.
?or clients who need to leave their homes, assist by giving them access to our home.
?omplete risk assessments and assist in developing safety planning for the client. If children are involved, help clients address the needs and safety concerns of their children.
?nput client information into database, document accurate records of abuse and maintain up-to-date records of service delivery and client case files.
?rack and compile monthly KPI reports.
?dvocate on behalf of the client within the legal system, helping them navigate the complex process of obtaining protection, seeking legal assistance, and/or other specific needs of the case.
?rovide emotional support, validation, and a safe space for clients to express their feelings and fears.
?elp clients regain their sense of self-worth and self-esteem by connecting them with relevant skill-building resources and leading life-skills sessions within the home.
?articipate in staff and team meetings, and professional development opportunities as required.

What we're looking for
?egree or Diploma in a related human/social service field such as Social work or Social service work OR Child and Youth Care Work and one (1) year of recent related experience. Or an equivalent combination of relevant training, education, and experience.
?ocial perception to work with individuals who have difficulty expressing their needs.
?emonstrated skills in case management, assessment, and intervention, writing case notes, advocacy, conflict resolution techniques, mediation, de-escalation skills and non-violent crisis management.
?nowledge of crisis-intervention methodologies.
?bility to compromise, negotiate, and work well with others.
?urrent First Aid/CPR Certificate is an asset.
?ccess to a reliable vehicle is an asset.
?uccessful candidates must provide a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check prior to commencing employment.
