Cambrian Credit Union is seeking a Manager, Learning & Development to join our dynamic People & Culture Team.
The Manager, Learning & Development provides leadership in all areas of employee learning and development, including skill-based programs to speed time to individual proficiency and performance, ongoing compliance learning, fostering a culture of co-owned professional development, and organizational capability building to ensure we can meet our current and future strategic goals. The Manager, Learning & Development acts as a subject-matter-expert on leveraging adult learning best practices to support effective change management aligned with enterprise goals.
The Manager, Learning & Development is responsible for the direct leadership of the Learning & Development team whose key responsibilities include identifying employee training needs and managing the development, design, delivery and evaluation of courses, programs and activities that create an exceptional employee experience and support Cambrian? overall business strategy.
In the role of Manager, Learning & Development, you will:
?rovide direct leadership, coaching and support to the Learning & Development team, by implementing departmental plans and ensuring achievement of objectives. You will be responsible for all direct leadership of team including performance management, development, and ongoing structure & recruitment.
?n partnership with the Vice-President, People & Culture, develop and execute of 6?-month plans to build organizational capability aligned to enterprise strategy and enhance employee experience through learning opportunities and program design.
?n partnership with the Vice-President, People & Culture, maintain, develop, and co-facilitate Cambrian? existing and emerging leadership development programs.
?ead the design or sourcing and delivery of innovative training that supports employee development in a variety of areas such as sales & service excellence, system training, compliance, etc.
?ork closely with leaders to identify and meet both current and future staff learning required effectively meet the requirements of their positions and to support career development.
?evelop, implement, manage and coordinate all staff learning and development programs and activities. Ensure learning performance objectives, lesson plans, manuals and participant guides/workbooks or other tools for these activities are created with contemporary adult learning principles. Conduct follow-up activities, evaluate their effectiveness and make changes/modifications as required.
?erve as the first point of contact and provide guidance and assistance to leaders in coaching and managing employee skill development and career development activities.
?erve as the primary internal contact for staff learning & development needs, and external liaison with all vendors and partners associated with learning and organizational development. Manage work experience programs and internships.
?versee the annual employee development and learning plan and budget, providing regular reporting for executive review.
?ork closely with members of the Senior Management team, and the People & Culture department in all aspects of learning & development as needed.
Your Education & Experience:
?roven success in corporate learning, with experience designing, developing and delivering programs for individual contributors and leaders that develop knowledge and increase skill (including interpersonal and technical skills).
?-2 years?xperience in a leadership capacity within a dynamic customer service focused organization.
?ormal education and/or certifications considered a strong asset:
?ost-secondary degree, diploma or certificate in Business, Human Resources, or Adult Education.
?elevant certifications such as Certified Training and Development Professional (CTDP), or Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) considered an asset
?hange management education or certifications
?xperience in strategic planning regarding organizational capability building and employee experience considered an asset.
?xperience in the Financial Services industry would be considered an asset.
?igh degree of digital literacy and comfortable navigating various applications.
?emonstrated experience providing coaching and guidance to leaders.
?nnovative, critical thinker, with a demonstrated ability to execute.
?bility to work well in a diverse environment with multiple and often changing priorities
