Our comic account with 3.9 million Instagram followers is built around themes of mental health, neurodivergence, friendship, and everyday emotional honesty — told through simple, funny dinosaur characters.
We're looking for a freelance animator to bring our comics to life as short-form video content for Instagram Reels. Our animated content has previously reached millions of views and driven tens of thousands of new followers per post. We have 120 reference animations that define the visual style and timing.
• *What we need:**
Short 15–30 second animations (9:16 vertical format for Reels) based on our existing comic panels. The style is clean, flat 2D character animation — think subtle movement, expressive timing, gentle loops. The humour lives in the pause before the punchline, not in flashy motion. We're not looking for complex VFX or 3D — we need someone who understands comedic timing and can make simple characters feel alive.
• *What we're looking for:**
- Strong portfolio in 2D character animation, ideally with flat/illustrative styles
- Sensitivity to comedic timing — this is crucial
- Clean, consistent output that respects an established visual style
- Reliable communication and turnaround
- Ability to work from static PNG panels (we provide everything)
• *The work:**
This starts as a per-animation commission with the potential for ongoing regular work as the relationship develops. We commission based on specific comics we want animated, so the workload is flexible rather than fixed.
