Position Overview:ShyftLabs is seeking an experienced Staff Data Architect to design and implement enterprise-scale data architectures for Fortune 500 companies. You will work with modern data platforms including Databricks, design data product-oriented operating models, and provide strategic guidance for organizations transitioning to AI-driven data ecosystems. ShyftLabs is a growing data product company founded in early 2020 and works primarily with Fortune 500 companies. Job Responsibilities: Design enterprise data architectures supporting 1000+ databases across multiple business domainsArchitect target state solutions leveraging Databricks Unity Catalogue, Delta tables, and AWS cloud services for data product-oriented operating modelsDesign strategic silver/gold/platinum data layer frameworks optimized for enterprise-scale analytics and AI readinessDefine data governance frameworks, metadata strategies, and domain ownership modelsDesign enterprise data integration patterns and technology selection strategies for diverse source systemsLead stakeholder workshops and facilitate cross-functional alignment on data architecture decisionsCreate enterprise data standards, policies, and best practices frameworksDesign scalable architecture patterns supporting both batch and near real-time streaming requirementsEnterprise Scale Expertise: Proven experience architecting data solutions for Fortune 500 companies with complex, multi-domain data ecosystemsStrategic Vision: Ability to translate diverse business requirements into scalable technical architectureData Product Leadership: Deep understanding of domain-driven design and data mesh principles for large-scale organizationsConsulting Excellence: Expert-level workshop facilitation, stakeholder management, and ability to present architectural strategies to executive leadership and technical teams Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field8+ years of experience in enterprise data architecture with Fortune 500 companiesExpert-level experience with Databricks platform, Unity Catalogue, and Delta Lake architectureDeep hands-on experience with AWS cloud services including S3, RDS, and database migration servicesProven experience with CDC (Change Data Capture) patterns and AWS DMSStrong background in designing silver/gold/platinum data layer architectures for enterprise analyticsExperience with job orchestration platforms such as Active Batch, Airflow, or similar enterprise schedulersKnowledge of data governance frameworks and metadata management at enterprise scaleUnderstanding of near real-time data processing and streaming architecturesExperience with enterprise data integration patterns across diverse source systems Preferred Qualifications Experience with data catalog and metadata management platformsKnowledge of data observability and monitoring platformsBackground in enterprise integration patterns and API architectureExperience with multi-domain data architecture in complex organizationsFamiliarity with retail or energy industry data ecosystems Additional Information We are proud to offer a competitive salary alongside a strong healthcare insurance and benefits package.
