The OpportunityYou’ll join our Robotics & AI team, where we push the limits of robot autonomy and intelligence. You’ll evaluate cutting-edge AI, machine-learning, and sensing technologies—from novel perception to advanced planning—to tackle the toughest real-world deployment challenges. Collaborating with engineers and partners, you’ll assess new technologies, design proof-of-concept experiments, build research prototypes, and swiftly transfer promising ideas to our product teams. Your Contributions Exploring, developing, and implementing cutting-edge technological advancements in robotics, machine learning and computer visionIdentifying emerging technologies, conducting in-depth evaluations, and translating these findings into innovative productsDeveloping prototypes and conducting pilot projects to test new technologies in controlled environments. Driving collaborations with tech startups, research institutions, and industry leaders to leverage external expertise and accelerate innovationConnecting with the engineering teams for the adoption and integration of new technologies into existing systems and processes, ensuring a seamless transition Your Profile Ph. D. in Computer Science, Robotics, AI, or a related technical field, or equivalent hands-on experience in a research or advanced development settingExcellent at designing and deploying state-of-the-art computer vision and AI perception models for real-world robotics or autonomous systems, including multi-modal approaches and vision-language integrationExcellent expertise in modern deep learning techniques, including transformer-based architectures and large-scale vision models, with hands-on experience training and fine-tuning such systems for robotics applicationsStrong track record of implementing and evaluating advanced AI algorithms for perception, sensing, and autonomous decision-making in real-world scenariosStrong practical experience across the MLOps pipeline—from data collection and curation to training, fine-tuning, and GPU-based deployment in embedded or edge systemsStrong in fast prototyping, concept validation, and rapid iteration—you build to learn and use experimentation as a core development toolStrong in self-coordination and project ownership, able to structure your work independently, align with strategic goals, and deliver meaningful outcomesStrong programming skills in C++ and Python, with the ability to write clean, and efficient codeGood familiarity with GPU programming, with the desire to deepen knowledge and performance tuning where neededExperienced in leading R&D initiatives or small cross-functional teams, with a focus on transferring promising ideas into impactful productsExcellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively share knowledge and insights Bonus Points You are already experienced with modern C++ and ROS Additional Information We offer you a very exciting and dynamic work environment, the opportunity to become part of a fast-growing company and an ambitious team that is on a mission to change the industrial inspection market, a chance to leverage your experience and bring in your own ideas, a fair market salary, an attractive employee stock ownership plan, and a job in the city of Zurich.
