Remote Games Metadata Specialist | Netflix

Remote, USA Full-time
Netflix, one of the world’s top entertainment platforms with over 300 million members in 190+ countries, is expanding its game discovery experience. The Product Metadata & Ratings team is seeking a metadata specialist with a deep understanding of games to help define how titles are classified, described, and surfaced across the platform. About the Role This position focuses on transforming game content into structured data that drives discovery, personalization, and user engagement. Ideal candidates understand game mechanics, genres, themes, and the emotional impact of gameplay—from fast-paced competitive shooters to cozy narrative indies. Working closely with taxonomists, product teams, and designers, this role supports the classification and launch of new titles while shaping the metadata strategy behind Netflix’s evolving games ecosystem. Key Responsibilities Tag and classify games across genres, styles, mechanics, and player experiences for both internal use and external platforms. Ensure accuracy and consistency of metadata to support search, recommendation, and promotional strategies. Collaborate across Product, Creative, Marketing, and Engineering teams on projects tied to innovation and discovery. Build systems for cross-platform alignment with TV and film metadata. Support curation, UI development, and algorithm training through metadata insights. Help manage vendor workflows and contribute to tool and process improvements. Requirements Background in games development, content classification, app store optimization, or editorial/media roles. Deep passion for games across platforms (console, PC, mobile). Strong knowledge of game genres, design elements, and audience appeal. Clear and objective writing style for summarizing game content. Experience managing projects or vendors; strong organizational skills. Proficiency in tools like Excel, Airtable, Google Sheets, and data platforms. Experience with children’s content or global markets is a plus. Compensation & Benefits Base salary: $70,000–$370,000, determined by experience, role, and market data. Option to choose mix of cash vs. stock. Health coverage, 401(k) with match, stock options, mental health resources, generous paid time off, family-forming benefits, and more. Netflix is committed to inclusion and equal opportunity. Accommodations are available throughout the hiring process upon request. Note: This role will remain open for at least 7 days and will close once filled. Apply tot his job Apply To this Job
