Job Overview As a Principal DevOps Engineer, you will be a technical subject matter expert and thought leader responsible for designing and implementing DevOps methodologies that span planning, development, and deployment. Your expertise will be crucial in shaping the company's DevOps environment, ensuring the adoption of best practices, and driving the continuous improvement of our data platform. Key Responsibilities Lead the development and implementation of DevOps strategies, tools, and practices that drive efficiency, scalability, and reliability across the organization. Design and enforce DevOps best practices, including version control, code review, automated testing, and deployment strategies. Model and manage infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or similar, to provision and manage resources across cloud environments. Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, CircleCI, or similar, to ensure rapid and reliable application deployment. Collaborate with security and compliance teams to ensure adherence to industry best practices and regulatory requirements. Monitor and analyze DevOps pipelines and practices, identifying areas for improvement, optimization, and automation to enhance deployment consistency and accuracy. Stay abreast of emerging technologies, trends, and best practices, and make recommendations for their adoption within the organization's DevOps environment. Coach and provide technical guidance to junior colleagues, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning. Required Qualifications To be considered for this role, you must possess: A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field. Experience working in public cloud environments, preferably GCP, Azure, or AWS, and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). Proficiency in infrastructure as code concepts and tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible) for automating resource provisioning and configuration. Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipeline tools (e.g., Jenkins, CircleCI) and version control systems (e.g., Git). Strong scripting skills in languages like Python, Bash, or similar. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex DevOps platform issues and provide effective solutions. Outstanding communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications While not mandatory, the following skills and experiences are highly valued: Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, Cloud Logging Solutions) to ensure application performance and system health. Knowledge of security best practices in DevOps, including experience with vulnerability scanning, compliance frameworks, and secure coding practices. Experience with Generative AI and/or GitLab.
