About The Role
The VP of Onboarding & Implementation will lead one of the most critical and high-impact functions at Rev.io — owning how clients go live on our platform and defining what world-class implementation looks like in a modern, AI-first SaaS company. This is not a role for a traditional professional services executive who manages delivery through headcount and project oversight. We are looking for a technically grounded leader who sees client onboarding as a data engineering and automation problem, and has the experience to prove it.
In this role, you will own the full client implementation lifecycle across Rev.io's billing, PSA, and payments products — from signed contract to go-live — with a relentless focus on compressing time-to-value through smarter systems rather than larger teams. You will design and deploy automated ETL/ELT pipelines, AI-assisted data migration frameworks, and self-serve integration tooling that fundamentally changes how clients experience onboarding. You will build and lead a technical implementation team — data engineers, integration specialists, and implementation consultants — and partner closely with Product and Engineering to drive the platform capabilities that make faster onboarding possible.
This is a full P&L ownership role with executive visibility, a direct line to the COO, and the opportunity to build something genuinely new: an AI-native implementation function that becomes a competitive advantage for Rev.io and a differentiator in our market.
Key Responsibilities
· Own Client Implementation End-to-End: Lead the full onboarding and implementation lifecycle across Rev.io's billing, PSA, and payments products — from contract execution through successful go-live and early client adoption, ensuring every client transitions smoothly and on time.
· Design & Deploy Automation and Data Frameworks: Architect automated ETL/ELT pipelines, AI-assisted data migration tools, and scalable onboarding playbooks that dramatically reduce implementation time and human lift across the delivery team.
· Build AI-Powered Onboarding Capabilities: Partner with Product and Engineering to develop AI-driven onboarding tools, pre-built third-party connectors, and self-serve integration capabilities that improve the client experience and reduce time-to-value at scale.
· Lead a Technical Implementation Team: Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing team of data engineers, integration specialists, and implementation consultants — building a culture of technical excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
· Own Implementation KPIs: Drive and report on the metrics that matter — time-to-live, time-to-value, client satisfaction, on-time delivery, and PS margin — with a data-driven approach to continuous improvement.
· Manage Full P&L Ownership: Own PS pricing strategy, packaging, utilization targets, and margin — partnering with Finance and Sales to ensure the implementation function is both client-centric and financially sustainable.
· Partner with Sales on Scoping and SOW Development: Collaborate with the Sales team during pre-sales to develop accurate, profitable implementation scopes and statements of work that set clients and the delivery team up for success.
· Serve as Executive Sponsor on Complex Implementations: Lead high-value and technically complex client engagements at the executive level — credible and present with client CTOs and CFOs, and equally effective in the technical weeds with your engineers.
· Influence the Product Roadmap: Translate real-world implementation data and client friction points into actionable engineering priorities — ensuring Rev.io's platform evolves in ways that make onboarding faster and more scalable.
· Drive a Culture of Innovation: Champion continuous improvement within the implementation function, leveraging AI, automation, and emerging integration technologies to stay ahead of the curve.
Required Qualifications
· Experience: 8–12+ years of progressive leadership in technical implementation, solutions engineering, or data engineering at growth-stage or mid-size B2B SaaS companies; experience working with or within MSP, telecom, or technology service provider markets strongly preferred.
· Technical Expertise: Deep, hands-on experience designing and deploying ETL/ELT pipelines, API integrations, data migration frameworks, and automated data workflows — you have architected these systems yourself, not only managed teams that did.
· AI & Automation Application: Demonstrated experience applying AI tools, automation frameworks, or machine learning capabilities to client onboarding or implementation delivery, with specific, measurable outcomes (reduced time-to-live, lower implementation cost, improved CSAT or margin).
· Technical Team Leadership: Proven experience building and leading teams of engineers and integration developers in an implementation or delivery context — not just project managers.
· P&L Ownership: Experience owning a Professional Services P&L, including pricing, margin management, utilization, and financial reporting.
· Executive Presence: Ability to operate confidently at the executive level — with clients, with internal leadership, and with the board — while remaining deeply engaged in technical delivery.
· Leadership & Communication: Demonstrated excellence in cross-functional leadership, proactive communication, and the ability to align engineering, product, and client stakeholders around shared delivery outcomes.
· Education: Bachelor's degree in a technical or business-related field required; MBA or advanced technical degree a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
· Domain experience in billing, payments, PSA, ERP, or adjacent SaaS platforms — familiarity with how Rev.io's clients operate is a meaningful advantage.
· Experience with iPaaS platforms such as Prismatic, Workato, or MuleSoft in an implementation delivery context.
· Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and modern data architecture patterns.
· Experience with agile delivery methodologies and iterative implementation frameworks.
· Prior experience leading implementation functions through a period of rapid scaling or product expansion.
· Exposure to AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor) or LLM application in an operations or delivery context.
