The Senior Project Manager role will lead complex, full-lifecycle implementations of our SaaS-based Student Information System (SIS) for higher education clients. This is both a strategic and hands on client-facing role requiring strong delivery leadership, governance, stakeholder management (including executive-level stakeholders), and the ability to mobilise and hold both internal and external teams accountable. The successful candidate will also play a key role in strengthening delivery discipline and project processes to ensure consistent execution across workstreams. You must be be comfortable operating in a high-pressure environment, managing challenging client expectations, and maintaining a clear focus on critical path activities, risk management, and delivery outcomes.
Job requirements
Education & Certification:
- PMP (Project Management Professional) certification preferred
Experience:
- Proven experience delivering complex SaaS or enterprise software implementations, ideally within a multi-workstream environment
- Strong track record of managing project scope, schedule, budget, and resourcing while maintaining delivery quality
- Demonstrated experience managing difficult stakeholders and maintaining client confidence in challenging delivery situations
- Strong experience managing and communicating with senior and executive stakeholders
- Proven ability to establish, adhere to and improve project processes, governance, and delivery discipline
- Experience managing risk, issues, dependencies, and escalation paths effectively
- Strong client-facing experience with a focus on customer satisfaction and long-term relationship building
- Familiarity with Canadian higher education environments and regulatory reporting is a plus
- Hands-on experience using project tools such as MS Project, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint
Job responsibilities
- Lead complex SIS implementation projects from initiation through go-live and post-go-live support
- Develop, maintain, and manage integrated project plans, ensuring clear ownership of milestones, dependencies, and deliverables
- Drive focus on critical path activities to ensure delivery progress and effective prioritization
- Establish and maintain strong governance, reporting cadence, and delivery processes to support consistent execution
- Own and manage project RAID logs, ensuring proactive risk identification, mitigation planning, and timely escalation
- Manage client expectations throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring alignment on scope, timelines, and outcomes
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior and executive stakeholders
- Lead client meetings and delivery forums, ensuring clear actions, accountability, and decision-making
- Hold internal and external teams accountable for delivery commitments, supporting escalation resolution where required
- Ensure quality and consistency across all project deliverables, ensuring appropriate documentation and delivery standards are met
- Support PMO continuous improvement by contributing to project collateral, templates, and best-practice ways of working
- Drive delivery transparency and integrity through clear communication, accurate reporting, and honest status management
- Work collaboratively with solution architects, technical teams, and client teams to ensure alignment across delivery workstreams.
