Senior Data Engineer
Job Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer with a strong focus on Power BI to lead the development and optimization of our data infrastructure and reporting capabilities. In this role, you will design and build scalable data pipelines, ensure efficient data modelling, and drive business intelligence initiatives across the organization. You will play a critical role in transforming raw data into actionable insights through advanced visualizations and analytics.
This is a strategic, hands-on role ideal for someone with deep expertise in data engineering, Power BI, and enterprise-level reporting solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for ingesting, transforming, and storing data from multiple sources into centralized repositories (e.g., data lake, data warehouse).
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of interactive Power BI dashboards and reports. Ensure consistency, usability, and performance of BI solutions across the organization.
- Create and optimize data models (including Star Schema and Kimball methodology) to support self-service analytics and enterprise reporting.
- Partner with stakeholders across departments to gather requirements, translate business needs into technical solutions, and drive data-driven decision-making.
- Optimize database queries, DAX calculations, Power BI datasets, and storage models for efficiency and scalability.
- Implement data governance practices, establish validation rules, and maintain high standards for data integrity and accuracy.
- Maintain thorough documentation of data architecture, data flows, and reporting standards. Promote best practices in BI development and data engineering.
- Stay current with BI trends, Power BI feature releases, and modern data stack technologies to continuously improve reporting capabilities
Qualifications:

- 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead role. Strong track record in Power BI development and enterprise reporting solutions.
- Proven experience designing complex Power BI dashboards, dataflows, and DAX calculations. Strong understanding of dataset management, row-level security (RLS), and performance optimization.
- Advanced proficiency in ETL tools and Microsoft SQL Server Data Tools (SSDT), including SSIS. Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL)
- Experience with data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and building scalable reporting systems.
- Strong critical thinking, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis capabilities.
- Familiarity with the FX industry or experience with trading platforms like MT4/MT5.
- Experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Snowflake)
