[Remote] Cyber Security Analyst for Data Loss Prevention

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. DSG Supply is seeking a Cyber Security Analyst for Data Loss Prevention (DLP) to join their IT team. This role is responsible for protecting sensitive data by monitoring, detecting, investigating, and preventing unauthorized data exposure or misuse, while collaborating with various teams to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Responsibilities • Monitor data transfer activity, APIs, and data movement across systems to identify potential data loss or misuse • Operate and maintain Data Loss Prevention (DLP) tools and technologies • Analyze security alerts and investigate suspected data loss incidents • Respond to security incidents involving data exposure or improper data handling • Partner with business units and data teams to design, implement, and fine-tune DLP solutions • Collaborate with software developers to promote secure application design and data handling practices • Monitor and support secure processes within the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) • Identify vulnerabilities in data management practices and application development processes • Stay current on emerging cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and data security trends • Provide training on data classification, data sensitivity, and data loss prevention best practices • Support organizational cybersecurity awareness and training initiatives • Understand and help ensure compliance with DSG’s regulatory and data protection requirements • Serve as a cybersecurity resource for internal teams and employee-owners • Other duties as necessary or assigned Skills • Associate degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field • 3+ years of experience in IT, cybersecurity, or a related technical role • Experience working with data protection technologies, security monitoring tools, or security operations processes • Knowledge of data management concepts, data classification, and secure software development practices • Strong understanding of security solutions and how they support broader business objectives • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment • Excellent communication and customer service skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences • Strong organizational, multitasking, and prioritization abilities • Ability to perform effectively in high-pressure situations • High ethical standards and strong commitment to confidentiality and data protection • Demonstrated alignment with DSG's core values and a collaborative, people-first mindset • Experience with data lakes or data repositories preferred • Security-related certifications such as Security+, CGRC, CC, or Data+ are a plus Benefits • Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) • Training and development • Paid Time Off (PTO) • Extended Medical Leave (EML) • Medical, dental, and vision • Life insurance • Short- and long-term disability • Health Savings Account (HSA) with employer contribution • Paid parental leave • Adoption assistance • Infertility assistance • Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account (FSA) • 401(k) with employer match • Discount on all DSG-supplied products • Paid volunteer hours Company Overview • As one of the most diverse independent wholesale distributors in the region, DSG supplies a broad range of products and solutions from leading manufacturers to professionals in the electrical, plumbing, HVAC, communications, utility, automation, waterworks, and onsite sewer and well industries.
