The University of Texas at Austin is hiring a Patient Financial Services Phone Representative for the Dell Medical School. This role involves managing patient accounts, ensuring accurate billing and collections, and providing excellent customer service to patients and their families.
Responsibilities
- Handle patient inquiries regarding billing and account status
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits
- Process payments and set up payment plans
- Generate and send patient statements
- Follow up on unpaid claims and outstanding balances
- Coordinate with insurance companies to resolve claim issues
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and their families
- Explain billing processes and insurance coverage
- Address patient concerns and escalating issues as needed
- Accurately enter patient information into the billing system
- Maintain detailed records of all interactions and transactions
- Prepare reports on account statuses and collections
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory requirements
- Maintain patient confidentiality and data security
- Participate in training on compliance and privacy policies
Skills
- High School Diploma/GED
- At least 1 year(s) of experience in Healthcare billing or customer service
- Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate
- Associate's Degree in healthcare administration or related field
- At least 3 year(s) of experience in revenue cycle management or medical billing
- Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) from HFMA
