VHB is an inspired and innovative team of engineers, scientists, planners, and designers. They are seeking a Civil Designer to join their Land Development and Infrastructure team, who will be responsible for developing civil engineering plans and specifications for land development projects.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a team of civil engineers, planners, and designers to develop site civil engineering plans and specifications for a variety of land development and infrastructure projects
- Contribute to the design and development of stormwater management systems, roadway and bicycle infrastructure, utilities, and site layout
- Prepare construction documents, site plans, specifications, and engineering reports
- Assist with navigating local permitting and regulatory approvals
- Support multiple projects in varying phases, from concept through construction
- Mentor and support junior staff with technical development and project coordination
Skills
- BS in Civil Engineering or a related field
- Minimum of 1–3+ years of relevant engineering experience
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D is required
- Experience producing site plans, construction documents, and technical reports
- EIT certification preferred or successful completion of the FE Exam
- MicroStation experience is a plus
- Familiarity with GIS is a plus—our team uses GIS as a tool to support integrated, data-driven design solutions
