Fractional HR Manager — People Ops, Rippling & Onboarding

Medzown is a precision medicine and health-tech company that helps patients with complex diagnoses navigate clinical trial options. We partner with major health plans and are growing our team thoughtfully. We're looking for an HR professional who can bring structure and consistency to our people operations as we scale — someone who can operate independently, move quickly, and build the right processes. What You'll Own 1. Hiring & recruiting coordination Support the external recruiter with job descriptions and coordinating interview scheduling, and support offer letter generation and background check processes. 2. Employee onboarding Run end-to-end onboarding workflows — from offer acceptance through day one — including equipment coordination, systems access setup, and new hire documentation. 3. Health benefits administration Administer medical, dental, and vision benefits through Rippling — managing enrollments, qualifying life events, open enrollment, and carrier communications. Serve as the point of contact for employee benefits questions and escalations. 4. Rippling administration Maintain and update the Rippling HRIS: employee records, PTO policies, org structure, permissions, and integrations. Troubleshoot issues and identify automation opportunities within the platform. 5. Timesheet & reporting Oversee timesheet submissions via Quidlo Timesheets for client-facing roles, flag discrepancies, and produce regular reports for leadership review. What We're Looking For - Minimum of 7+ years in HR generalist, HR ops, or people operations roles - Hands-on Rippling experience (HRIS, benefits administration, payroll workflows, PTO, onboarding) - Direct experience managing group health benefits — enrollments, open enrollment, and carrier coordination - Comfortable owning processes independently with minimal oversight - Strong written communication — you'll interact with candidates and employees directly - Prior experience at a startup or small team (under 50 employees) strongly preferred - Health-tech or regulated industry background is a plus, not required Engagement Details - Hours: 10–20 hrs/week - Type: Ongoing contract - Location: Remote (US preferred) - Start: ASAP How to Apply Please include a brief overview of your Rippling experience, your background administering employee health benefits, and one example of an HR process you've built or automated.
