**Pharmacy Technician Apprenticeship Program**

**Key Responsibilities**
As an Experienced Full Stack Pharmacy Technician, you will:
* Assist pharmacists in the exercise of pharmacy, under direct supervision, in accordance with national and federal regulations
* Use pharmacy systems to retrieve patient and drug information and process prescriptions
* Model and provide a unique and delightful customer experience
* Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with services and products
* Resolve customer issues and answer inquiries to ensure a superior customer experience
* Develop strong relationships with most valuable customers
* Perform duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager, personnel Pharmacist, and Store Supervisor, including using pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug records, filling prescriptions, and verifying medication accuracy
* Assist pharmacists in scheduling and maintaining work flow
* Report prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty and adhere to company policies and procedures regarding pharmacy errors and the quality improvement program
* Adhere to the arenaflex Co. Policy regarding accurate dispensing throughout all applicable prescription dispensing activities
* Register all related sales on assigned cash register, collect and handle coins as required, and take customers to the OTC aisle to assist in finding merchandise
* Handle telephone calls that do not require the personal attention of the pharmacist, including those to physicians
* Method (correct and resubmit) claims for third-party prescription services in a timely and efficient manner, and perform other clerical responsibilities as assigned by the Store Manager
* Assist and support the Pharmacy Department on stock management activities, including ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing shipments of prescription medications
* Maintain knowledge of company asset safety procedures and document claims for warehouse overages, shortages, order mistakes, or broken goods related to Rx capsules
* May assist pharmacists in administering medical services, including the collection and proper labeling of blood/urine samples from patients and other medical services as required
* Assist the Pharmacy Supervisor and personnel Pharmacist in developing and maintaining strong relationships with the local medical community, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers, through clinical provider detailing and outreach to healthcare agencies, retirement homes, nursing homes, and other forums for reinforcing growth opportunities
* Assist with outdoor and indoor maintenance by ensuring the pharmacy department is stocked with sufficient supplies, clean, neat, and orderly in appearance and condition
**Education and Personal Development**
* Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the arenaflex Pharmacy Technician training program and/or state required certification/registration
* Attend training and complete PPLs requested by the manager and acquire continuing education credits
* Maintain expertise and skill in healthcare and pharmacy, including latest information and developments
* Through completion of the arenaflex pharmacy technician apprenticeship program, experience qualifies for 8 (8) college credit hours as recognized by the American Council on Education (ACE)
**Basic Qualifications**
* Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico)
**Preferred Qualifications**
* Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment
* Prefer previous work experience with arenaflex
* Prefer strong math skills to accurately fill prescriptions, including counting, measuring, and weighing medications
* Prefer good computer skills
* Prefer knowledge of store inventory management
* Prefer PTCB certification
