The ideal Creative Director:
• Has many years of experience in the industry as a graphic designer and a portfolio full of exceptional, corporate-level work.
• Has a marketing background and understands how to design to create desired outcomes.
• Has a clear, demonstrated understanding of balance, composition, what makes a great layout, proper execution of typography styles and hierarchy, color theory, white space, and an ability to execute great work within these standards.
• Has robust and demonstrated experience as a successful Associate Creative Director in previous roles.
• Can work in ambiguity at times where the client does not know what they want and can think strategically to deliver solutions that achieve their marketing goals. (We want that client to say, "I had no idea what I wanted but you knew exactly what I needed!")
• Can work and organize under tight deadlines.
• Knows good design when she/he/they see it and is well versed in current trends.
• Knows how to work with designers to get the ideal end result for a client.
• Can collaborate cross-functionally with Project Managers to ensure that projects move forward within budgets and timelines.
• Is comfortable working directly with clients and getting their buy-in on creative briefs and ensuring that all deliverables align with and exceed any set expectations.
• Has an expert understanding of design programs such as Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, PowerPoint, and more
Bonus points if...
• You have lengthy corporate and tech industry experience (i.e. worked for Google, Apple, etc.)
• You can make quick changes to projects on the fly if a designer is unavailable or if you need to intervene on any projects when appropriate
The Creative Director will be a 1099 contractor and will work on an as-needed basis. As Firebrand grows, there may be opportunities for full-time employment in the future.
