The Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts is seeking a Jr. Front-end Applications Developer to join their Web Applications Tax and Reporting development team. In this role, you will perform computer programming work for the design and development of front-end services for web applications using React.JS, JavaScript, and REST APIs in a microservices environment.
Responsibilities
- Develops routine coding tasks in React.JS, JavaScript, and related technologies based on business requirements
- Develops test cases and integration testing of applicable changes based on requirements
- Assists in analyzing software problems and solutions
- Adheres to established architecture, design & coding standards
- Assists in performing research and analysis to define specifications for current or proposed software applications
- Prepares detailed diagrams/documentation to capture application workflow logic
- Participates in Agile Scrum team status, planning, and review sessions
- Participates in structured peer reviews/walkthroughs
- Performs all other related duties as assigned, including responding to problems in an on-call situation 24 hours a day during a rotation
Skills
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university and pursuing an associate or bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems or a related field
- Experience in the design and coding of web applications utilizing React.JS and JavaScript
- Experience in Web development technologies and platforms (i.e. Apache, React.JS, Microservices)
- Graduation from an accredited community college/university with an associate or higher degree in computer science or web development
- Experience with modern JavaScript microframeworks (React.JS, Vue.JS)
- Experience with 508 compliance, specifically for responsive design/mobile
- An understanding of Service-Oriented Architecture and microservices
