CGL is a leading Canadian financial services co-operative committed to sustainability. As an Associate Systems Developer, you will develop system-based solutions, maintain code, and document processes while collaborating with your team to enhance efficiency and innovation.
Responsibilities
- Supporting the team in various responsibilities including estimating assigned tasks, completing status reports, and creating and maintaining technical documentation
- Participating in the design and execution of program coding to implement features of small to medium complexity
- Contributing to an implementation and back-out plan for a single system
- Assisting with unit testing for developed code, verifying functionalities and supporting system and user acceptance testing
- Learning relevant Information Technology (IT) standards, methodologies, processes and tools and contributing to project reviews
Skills
- 1-3 years of experience in Information Technology or a related field
- Completed post-secondary education in Information Technology, Computer Science or related discipline
- Proficiency in English is essential to the main duties in this role, including servicing and communicating primarily with majority non-francophone clients, groups, teams
- Drafting complex English documents and preparing daily reports for anglophone leaders
- Exposure to one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, C#)
- A working understanding of core software development concepts, such as version control, APIs, databases, Git, and Agile SDLC practices
- Any exposure to Guidewire is considered an asset but not required
