Job Purpose
To secure projects for our client and their sub-contractor partners through specifications by cultivating key relationships with architects, fa?de consultants, quantity surveyors and main contractors and advising on products, their capabilities and promoting the features and benefits of using them.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities: ?evelop strong relationships with architects, fa?de consultants and main contractors within the area, with a view to having products specified and approved, wherever possible. ?arget selected specifying outlets in a designated area in order to expand the existing specifier base. ?btain leads on potential business using external resources and working closely with the Lead Management team. ?rovide technical support to architects/contractors and Partners in the design and bidding phase of projects with a view to promoting their solutions. ?eep architectural practices in area up to date on new developments and products within our client? portfolio. ?aintain close communication with other APMs and BDMs to maximise potential to secure orders for customers. ?eep the National Specification Manager advised on movements and submit monthly reports in a timely manner. ?omplete the required number of personal meetings with specifiers and main contractors which are KPI defined and fully record those visits on CPS as close to the event as possible for continuity (usually within 24 hours). ?o maintain up to date records of all projects and their status on CPS in a timely manner. ?o follow up projects on completion.
Essential Skills:
?egree level calibre or equivalent in experience with technical background (e.g. civil engineering) with a natural ability to deal with technical issues.
?revious experience in dealing with architects in the target area in particular on matters relating to design and specification.
?revious experience with the design/construction of facades or building envelopes and familiarity with related structural issues.
?amiliarity with the construction industry in general and the technical / commercial processes which are central features of all significant projects.
? proven track record of successful business development.
?ell-developed inter-personal skills.
?atience and diplomacy to pursue long term objectives.
?elf-motivated with the determination to achieve results and win against strong opposition.
?ommercial awareness and judgement to assess priorities and deal with them effectively to achieve business goals.
