The Role: Georgia Special Education Certified Teacher This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Georgia Special Education Certified Teacher in a contract position that offers a flexible schedule and the chance to make a real difference in the lives of students. As a virtual teacher, you'll be responsible for planning and delivering engaging online lessons, following the Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) of exceptional learners, and differentiating instruction to meet the diverse needs of your students. Key Responsibilities Instructional Delivery: Develop and deliver interactive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards. Utilize virtual learning platforms to teach students in both synchronous (live) and asynchronous (self-paced) settings. Modify and adapt instruction to accommodate students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Provide one-on-one or small group sessions for students requiring additional support. Student Engagement: Foster a positive and inclusive online learning environment that encourages academic and personal growth. Implement strategies to engage students through virtual tools and resources. Monitor student participation and ensure all students are actively involved in the learning process. Assessment and Evaluation: Design and administer assessments to monitor student progress and understanding. Use data to refine teaching strategies and adjust instructional materials accordingly. Provide constructive feedback to students and parents on academic performance and progress. Classroom Management: Maintain discipline and oversee student conduct within the virtual classroom. Establish clear expectations for online behavior and netiquette. Technology Integration: Utilize educational technology to enhance learning outcomes and student engagement. Troubleshoot basic technology issues related to the virtual learning environment. Communication: Maintain regular communication with all stakeholders, including students, parents, and colleagues, to discuss student progress and concerns. Collaborate with other educators and specialists to support student learning and achievement. Professional Development: Engage in continuous learning to stay current with virtual teaching methodologies and SEND strategies. Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and school programs as required. Contribute professional expertise to professional learning communities and maintain 12 hours of professional learning annually. Requirements and Qualifications To be successful in this role, you'll need: A valid Georgia Special Education certification. A Bachelor's degree or above in Education; a Master's degree is preferred. At least 1-3 years of teaching experience, preferably in a special education setting. The ability to submit a background check. A professional workspace with a reliable computer and high-speed internet connection (a headset is recommended). Proficiency in using virtual learning platforms and educational technology. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of differentiated instruction and the ability to engage students in a virtual environment. A strong understanding of curriculum and content-area standards. The capability to analyze student data and apply it to instructional planning. Excellent time management skills to facilitate online learning effectively. Preferred Qualifications Experience with virtual teaching platforms and tools. Knowledge of SEND strategies and methodologies. Previous experience working with students with diverse needs.
