Job Overview We are currently seeking experienced virtual math tutors to work with middle school students (grades 6-8) who are in need of additional support with upper elementary and early middle school math content. As a virtual math tutor with Littera Education, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of your students, helping them to build confidence, develop their understanding of math concepts, and achieve academic success. This is a contract remote position, offering a flexible schedule and the opportunity to earn supplemental income. Key Responsibilities Indicate your availability to tutor, without minimum or maximum requirements, and commit to a consistent schedule to support a series of tutoring sessions with the same student(s) Complete curriculum reviews for lesson materials to ensure you are familiar with the content and can provide high-quality support to your students Tutor students virtually in a 1:1 to 1:3 setting, using online virtual tools and technology to deliver engaging and effective lessons Build relationships with students located across the United States, providing personalized support and guidance to help them achieve their academic goals Review provided lesson content materials and impact a student's learning experience by providing feedback, guidance, and encouragement Essential Qualifications Relevant experience working with school-age learners in some capacity, such as teaching, tutoring, or mentoring Relatively consistent ongoing calendar availability to support a session series from week to week at the same time with the same student(s) Ability to effectively instruct and engage students with clear communication and interpersonal skills A high comfort level with online virtual tools and technology, including desktop or laptop, video camera, and reliable internet connection Residence in the continental United States, Alaska, or Hawaii A bachelor's degree is preferred, but college students are welcome to apply with 1+ years of relevant experience Preferred Qualifications Experience working with middle school students or teaching math at the middle school level Familiarity with online tutoring platforms and virtual learning environments Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt to new situations and challenges A passion for education and a commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of students Skills and Competencies Strong knowledge of math concepts and principles, with the ability to explain complex ideas in a clear and concise manner Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with students, parents, and colleagues Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong sense of initiative and self-motivation Strong technical skills, with the ability to use online virtual tools and technology to deliver effective lessons Ability to adapt to new situations and challenges, with a strong sense of flexibility and resilience Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits As a virtual math tutor with Littera Education, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in a supportive and collaborative environment. Compensation, Perks, and Benefits We offer a competitive hourly rate of $18 per hour for non-high school algebra sessions, and $22 per hour for high school algebra I session series.
