We are looking for an Apple-focused professional with a passion for learning and a drive to deliver exceptional technical support. Job Overview As a Technical Support Specialist, you will be responsible for providing technical support, maintenance, and repair of our wide range of AV systems, printers, and computers, with a primary focus on Apple devices. You will work closely with the Academic Technology Manager to ensure seamless integration of technology solutions, provide metrics and analytics, and conduct research to continually improve our services. Your expertise will be instrumental in maintaining and upgrading our Apple computers, associated software, and MDM (Kandji), as well as providing level 3 technical support as a roaming technician. Key Responsibilities: Upgrade and maintain Apple computers, associated software, and MDM (Kandji) Provide metrics and analytics on Apple usage and recommendations for Apple upgrades Maintain Apple Certification and Qualifications necessary to service Apple products under warranty Assist in installing, configuring, testing, and supporting AV systems, including video conferencing, video editing, and audio products Install, maintain, and configure computers, printers, and supporting technology Follow SLA guidelines and report progress, achievements, and improvement plans to upper management Act as a roaming technician, providing level 3 technical support Maintain and update technical skills on latest technologies and train other IT staff on Learning Space Technology resources Troubleshoot and resolve hardware-related issues, including warranty hardware repair and replacement Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory of hardware, software, consumables, and user documentation Essential Qualifications: To be successful in this role, you should have: Knowledge of Apple technology and associated management software Ability to grasp and maintain technical knowledge Bachelor's degree or minimum of three years of professional experience Macintosh and Windows troubleshooting skills and experience Clear verbal, written, and email communication skills Flexibility to change hours if necessary to accommodate new university or departmental needs Reliable and effective time management skills Preferred Qualifications: While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable: Experience supporting the latest Windows & Mac OS in an academic environment Experience with Apple GSX Portal Experience with Extron and Crestron AV equipment InfoComm CTS or similar certifications Apple Certifications Skills and Competencies: To excel in this role, you should possess: Strong technical skills and knowledge of Apple devices and software Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills Effective communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong organizational and time management skills Adaptability and willingness to learn new technologies and processes Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits: At The New School, we are committed to providing our employees with opportunities for growth and development.
