Job Overview As a Family Liaison at Mid-Del School District, you will play a vital role in fostering effective communication between the school, families, and the community. Your primary objective will be to provide support and resources to ensure that all students have the opportunity to succeed academically and personally. Key Responsibilities: Welcome and Support New Families: You will be responsible for welcoming new families into the school community and helping them establish themselves and their students in the school. Monitor Attendance and Provide Support: You will monitor tardiness and absences, contacting parents of chronic absentee students to offer assistance and support. Plan and Lead Community Events: You will help plan and lead family and community outreach events, fostering a sense of community and promoting student engagement. Guide Families through School Resources: You will guide families through the various supports offered by the school district, ensuring that they are aware of and can access the resources they need. Technology Support: You will help families navigate the use of technology and online educational programs used by the school district, promoting digital literacy and accessibility. Collaborate with School Staff: You will work closely with school staff, families, and students to create unique supports and ensure success for individual students. Implement School-Wide Programs: You will help implement school-wide programs aimed at progressing towards the goals detailed in the school's Title 1 Schoolwide Plan, as required by the Every Student Succeeds Act, Section 1114. Essential Qualifications: To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications: High School Diploma or GED: You must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) as a minimum educational requirement. Associate Degree or Equivalent: You must be highly qualified, with an Associate Degree or 48 hours of college credit, or have passed the Oklahoma General Education Test (OGET), Workkeys Test, or ParaPro Assessment. Excellent Communication Skills: You must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with families, students, and school staff. Ability to Work Independently: You must be able to work independently, with minimal supervision, and as part of a team. Preferred Qualifications: While not essential, the following qualifications are preferred: Experience Working with Diverse Communities: You should have experience working with diverse communities, with a strong understanding of the challenges and opportunities faced by families from different backgrounds. Knowledge of Community Resources: You should have knowledge of community resources and services, with the ability to connect families with the support they need. Fluency in Multiple Languages: You should be fluent in multiple languages, with the ability to communicate effectively with families who may have limited English proficiency.
