Your jobAs an Engineering Manager with a hands-on mindset, you will lead a cross-functional team responsible for Statista's internal Content Tooling platform — a key enabler for our in-house researchers and data engineers. In close collaboration with a strong Product Manager, you'll be at the forefront of building AI-enabled content production at scale. Together, you’ll shape the roadmap, empower a senior engineering team, and deliver high-quality, scalable, and cost-efficient solutions. What you’ll do:Lead a team of backend, frontend, and QA engineers — creating a supportive environment where people can grow and do their best workCollaborate closely with Product to define and deliver on a clear vision and roadmapSupport the team in architectural and technical decision-making, while not being expected to contribute code regularlyDrive engineering excellence and accountability for the stability, performance, and maintainability of the tools you build and ownLead and deliver migration projects — Statista has a long history of building internal tools; you'll work to consolidate what’s still valuable and phase out the obsoleteBuild strong relationships with internal stakeholders and partner with data engineers and architects to develop powerful internal content automation and toolingYour skills3+ years of experience leading cross-functional, product-oriented engineering teamsSolid grasp of full-stack development, ideally with Java, React, and both relational and NoSQL databasesStrong understanding of distributed system design, particularly microservice architecturesExcellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset — you build strong relationships with senior engineers, product peers, other engineering managers, and various stakeholdersFamiliarity with building applications on AWSBonus: experience developing GUI-heavy internal tools or platformsWhat we offerIn addition to our great team, culture, and our shared goal of empowering people with data, there are many other things that make Statista a great place to work!
